TOP 10 CAMPING TIPS

At Bellisima we consider ourselves well practiced campers, so here are our top tips to make your camping tips Pitch Perfect!

GET A TENT THAT’S SUPER EASY TO PUT UP!

Bell Tents are perfect… Bellisima Bell Tents are even better!

They’re so easy to put up that you can do it on your own or better yet, get someone else to do it while you get started on the wine!

PACK WARM CLOTHES!

Camping is always cold, even in summer!

It doesn’t matter how warm it is outside, once the sun goes down, you’ll be shivering if you don’t follow this step.

Check our Clothing Checklist for the best things to pack!

GET BEDDING YOU LOVE

We love sleeping bags that feel just like duvets! If you don’t have sleeping bags, take lots of duvets! Take extra to put underneath you, remember ‘A blanket below is worth ten above!’ (Check out our Keeping Warm post for more on this!)

FAN HEATER!

Take a fan heater if you have power and especially if you have little children. We have camped with and without one and I can promise you that we always miss it when we don’t have it!

BED WARMTH

Use an electric blanket – or hot water bottles if you don’t have power.

This makes your bed feel heavenly at night.

CAMPING FOOD

Get easy to store and easy to cook food a decent cooking stove and some proper cooking pans, don’t bother with camping pans – camping pans are always rubbish! Also, snacks are a must. Lots and lots of snacks, especially if you are camping with children; nothing makes a parent want to scream more than the words “Muuuum, I’m hungry!”

DOWNLOAD THE KINDLE APP ON YOUR PHONE

Books are heavy and take up room and they can easily get damaged while camping. Whether it’s stories to read to the kids or books for you to read in the sun, you’ll thank us for this one. Soggy books are never fun! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en_GB&gl=US

BATTERIES!

Don’t forget to check the batteries in your torches and camping lanterns. Carefully checking all your equipment before you leave is always a good idea!

CHECK FOR INTERNET

Maybe you want it, maybe you don’t… But, knowing what’s available beforehand can be helpful. I work from home, so an internet connection is a must and I’m pretty sure most teenagers will feel you’ve ruined their lives if you make them spend a week in nature without TikTok for a distraction!

MAKE A REALLY GREAT CAMPING CHECKLIST

This will help you stay organized and ensure you don’t forget anything. There’s nothing worse than arriving and realising you left something important at home!
